- Serve as a lighting tool to soften thematic lighting, expand color schemes, and giving texture to lighting systems.
First things first...
Ask yourself this, what type of a tent are you using? Pole Tent, Frame Tent, Keder Style, West Coast Style, Structure? All of these tent options utilize different styles of liners for proper fit and ease of installation.
Skyliner Tent Liners: Unique Stretch and Quick Installation
Skyliner Liners stand out from all other tent liners. These liners are manufactured with multi-directional stretch within the fabric, providing a unique and modern look. Skyliner Liners use carabiners to attach in 5-6 different locations around the frame. All Rainier tent liners are fabricated with flame retardant fabric. The Skyliner Liners take minutes to install. These liners are available in a wide variety of colors to fit your tent inventory needs.
Pole Tent Liners: Rigging Solutions for Centralized Design
A pole tent utilizes a bail ring and rigging harness attached around the center poles to raise the liner in place. The liner attaches to the curtain rope around the perimeter of the tent and to the rigging harness which tensions the liner as it is being raised. Once raised, the liner ties off along the outside of the tent or along the perimeter eve of the tent.
Baytex Liners: Perfect Fit for All Tent Types
Baytex Liners from Rainier Tent are manufactured to fit tents of all sizes. Baytex designs liners to fit and hang perfectly inside any manufacturer's tent. Therefore, it's important to verify the type of tent your liner will be installed inside. Keep in mind, Pole tent systems have varying pitch angles that may require additional materials during install. Furthermore, make sure you specify the manufacturer, style, pole variations, and size of the tent during the ordering process.
Structure Tent Liners: Durable Options for Large Installations
Structure tents use either a MOD liner with keder rails and pulley systems or an in-beam specific system that pulls the liner through the additional keder channels and Velcro along the ridge. These tent liners install in structures that span from 10m-50m wide with bay widths of 5m or 20'.
Modular Liners: Ideal for Large Structure Tents
Modular Liners use similar hoisting systems as frame tent liners with one variation. Modular Liners are made with large structure tents in mind, thus the additional run of fabric from the peak to the perimeter of the structure often requires more support to eliminate uneven fabric.
To combat this droop effect, rails are incorporated in the installation of the liner that connects the perimeter of the liner to a rail, then to another section of liner than to a rail at the peak of the tent. More sections of a tent liner are installed pending the size of the tent. Instead of hoisting the fabric of the liner itself, installers are using the same pulley system to raise the peak and intermediate rails and then connecting the ends to the perimeter of the tent. Connecting to the perimeter can be either to the sidewall line sewn into the top or to securing clips that connect into the keder channel.
In-Beam Liners: Seamless Integration with Support Beams
In-beam style liners install just as a keder top installs. These systems utilize a secondary keder track which is an integral part of their support beam system. These liners stretch from beam to beam, insert into the track, and lay across the tent for a neat taught finish.
Frame Tent Liners: Enhancing Smaller Tents with Softened Looks
In the tent industry, a frame tent refers to a tent that measures 50' and under. Frame Tent Liners, are liners that extends from keder to keder, and keder to frame. The liners are hung using hooks and D-Rings from the frame and connect via velcro. We fabricate these tent liners in a range of sizes from 10' to 50' wide. The eave attachment is made using regularly spaced, stainless steel frame hooks, and fixed alongside the eave web of the frame tent liners. This style provides a softened look and appears to lower the ceiling height of the tent giving a more intimate feel inside the tent. These liners will also hide the necessary inner workings of a tent, like electrical wiring, HVAC ductwork, and lighting fixtures.
High Peak Tent Liners: Modern Cascading Design
A final style of liner is the High Peak Tent Liner. This liner has more of a pleated look to it that emanates from the peak of the tent – be that where the framework peaks or where center poles are in place – down to the perimeter. The benefits of this liner being that it gives a more contemporary look to the ceiling of a tent than more traditional liner designs. These tent liners are a favorite due to the cascade effect that liners emulate in a tent.
Important Considerations When Choosing Tent Liners
- For lighter color liners – lighting shines through the liner with a “glow” effect. Thematic and colored lighting display with the source fixture behind the liner itself.
- Though liners are porous, and air can pass through – HVAC systems should not be behind the liner. We recommend incorporating HVAC systems into the liner system, this way the heat and air conditioning is most effective for guests and will not create moisture build-up.
- Liners are a cost-effective way to prolong the life of a tent. Repairs, patches, discolorations, pinholes are all things that can shorten the usable life of a tent top. These blemishes are all hidden from view with the use of a fitted tent liner.
